Hello Jim.............and anyone else who reads my first post here. I am just going to do a short intro of John and myself today. I have to think a bit of how to start here on the forum with our story.
I know I don't know any of you personally but I feel like you are all my friends. I seem to be awake so many times during the night since my husbands recent diagnosis of lung cancer. I met all of you about four o'clock this morning and I knew right away that this was a place I not only wanted to be but I need to be.
I have spent many sleepless nights and many tears have been falling in the last month and a half. I have so much to talk to all of you about but I will do it one day at a time.......
John and I are 73 and 71 years young respectively and have been best friends for 55 years. We have been married for almost 53 years. We have been blessed with 6 wonderful children, 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They are the most wonderful thing that ever happened to us. They are certainly making the journey through this recent part of our life more tolerable. I cannot imagine anyone going through this alone.

Thank you for being here and I will try to be stronger and listen to any advice that comes my way. I will go into details of John's diagnosis and what treatments we are having in my next post.

Regina

Hello Regina
I'm sorry to hear of your husbands illness. From your post I can tell he is a man who has someone who loves him very much, this will be a huge comfort to him and also to you I suspect. Like you I find it hard to think of anyone going through this alone, but it does happen, but thankfully not to your husband Smile I don't know a lot about lung cancer and its treatment but there are wonderful people here who have a lot of personal experience with it and they will be able to help you with any questions about medical treatments. No doubt you have already been to the lung cancer forum http://cancerforums.net/viewforum.php?f=4 and read the posts there. Jim will probably put a copy of your post there for you.
My advice to you is don't forget about yourself during this time. If you have a close friend or family member that you can sound off to, take the opportunity and do it. if not you might want to try a local support group, in fact you might want to do that anyway.

Good luck on the journey Regina my best wishes to your husband and yourself and chin up there is always hope Smile

Regina, I to am very sorry about your husband. I did move your post to the Lung Cancer Forum. This is one of our most active forums and you will find a lot of supportive and informed members here.
