Hi ahsanr, your question is more complex than it might seem on the surface. Chemotherapy is one of three major modalities of treating cancer.

Arrow First, a clarification... no cancer is curable regardless of what others might say. Some cancer can go into remission for a long time. But no cancer is truly cured.

Arrow Chemotherapy, as the name implies, is the use of chemicals to kill and/or try to control cancers.

Arrow There are literally hundred of chemotherapy drugs. Some are targeted for specific types of cancers. Others have effect on several cancers.

Arrow Some chemotherapy agents have significant side effects while others have very few.... and side effects vary from one individual to the next.

Arrow Personally, I think any holistic therapy is a form of chemotherapy that has not been shown scientifically to be safe and/or effective. This does not mean that they are not safe and/or effective just that they have not been included in any scientific studies yet.

Arrow The other two modalities used to treat cancer are surgery and radiation therapy.
