My sister (after having had the priest give her the Last Rites five times) has somehow beaten death, and is able to eat, walk, go to the bathroom on her own, take showers, and generally hold a conversation without dropping off to sleep! It's amazing.

She is still hospitalised though, but that is such an improvement over the other stuff I had reported some weeks ago.

Right now they're giving her chemo every two weeks, and she is undergoing 10 days of radiation. She had been hospitalised on July 7th with an intestinal blockage and give two weeks to live. The blockage somehow undid itself about three weeks ago and that's why she can eat now. She even had me buy really expensive European chocolates and ate some today!

Thanks for all the advice and support previously. I am sorry for not coming back sooner, but I lost the link and it took awhile for me to remember the name of this forum. It's now in my favourites, so I won't be lost again Very Happy

Hope you are all doing better.

Honey

P.S. My mother is doing well also. Her cancer was not 4th stage but early stages, and she's on some hormone blockers at this time.

Hi Honey, I'm so glad to hear your sister and mother are both doing better. I will be praying that you get to eat expensive chocolates for a long time to come. You are all in my thoughts. Love to all. Jen.

Thanks for the responses and well wishes. Too often we turn to others when things are not going well (sounds familiar?) and then disappear when they're better.

I've been trying to get my house in order (left my remodelling for months) so that we can sort of get back to normal. My husband needs this and so do the kids. Coming to think of it....so do I!! Very Happy

I wish you all well, and it's very nice to know that you all noticed my absence. I will continue coming back from time to time.

We're taking everything one day at a time. That's all we can do. Best wishes to you all, from my home to yours.
