2nd infusion today. Went to the store, bit into a grape. YOW!!!! My saliva glands instantly clenched up into my ears. Anyone else experience this?

I also am very shaky like I'm on a stimulant. Decadron? Oxiplantin? (sp?)

Thanks in advance...

Hi Julia,

I had the same experience on oxaliplatin, my doctor did say that I would have to eat everything that is cold at luke warm to room temparature, including salad! also in winter to wrap up as the cold also will make your body sensitive as feels like electrical current going through body. I developed nueropathy with this drug so please tell your doctor of first signs of numbness in feet or hands, course it depends on the persons body you may not experience this.as for being off the medication the senistivity of eating cold does go away and you will be eating ice cream in no time Smile
