My mom was just diagnosed with uterine cancer (grade 1). The dr's told her that she is in the very very early stages (maybe 6-8 weeks out) and should be cancer free after the hysterectomy. The cells are well-differentiated so we dont think the cancer has spread outside the uterine walls. She is scheduled for a hysterectomy next week. We are hoping for the best. However, before she gets her surgery, they asked her to get
some CT scans of the abdomen and pelvis. As well as a colonoscopy. She
just got the results of the CT scan and they found a 5mm nodule in her
lung. They now want her to get a CT scan of the entire chest. She is scheduled for this tomorrow. I am worried because of course we are thinking that her cancer has spread. Also, that there are more nodules on her lung that we arent aware of.

Tthe dr's did tell is that 90% of the time it could either be a shadow or something that she will have to keep an eye on going forward. What do you think?

Hi leoimbro, I am so sorry about your mother's diagnosis. I do hope that it has not spread. I do know that sometimes what looks like nodules turns out to be nothing to worry about. Even if it is metastatic cancer, the odds are that they will still want to do surgery with chemotherapy and possibly radiation therapy. But at this point the "if" is a very big word. Let us know how the next CT turns out.

You and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers.
