If my sister-in-law's breast cancer has returned (2 previous recurrences already) and shows up in this week's PET Scan, what words does she need to hear from me to help her through this? Confused

Just being there for her will say more than words...
Support and not being alone too often helps keep ones mind occupied.
Some people like to have someone around to just talk to them or for them to talk to you.
Fighting cancer may be a different experience each time as I suppose if it returns in a different area then the process of illiminating it may be somewhat different.

I had both breast removed...and my ovaries as I attempt to make it difficult for the dragon to return.There are no promises but I am OK with where life takes me....I live for today.

Just be there for her...come here and other support groups to ask questions that may be simular to her situation.

Your such a sweetheart for even asking about her...that shows love.
I'll be interested in knowing how well the Pet Scan results are....I am considering to have one myself.

Thank you so much for responding. My husband and I were so worried.
However, nothing showed up in her PET Scan. Hooray! She sounded so relieved and could return to a somewhat normal life once again.

But I guess because she's been very tired lately (months), she was being cautious by having a PET Scan. Which I think was very smart. I hope you will have one and it be covered by insurance. Good to know if the cancer has spread.

I will be back from time to time because you relieved my anxiety by telling me what you thought I should do for her. And I appreciate your reply and your honesty.
