I need some advice. I may be overly paranoid, and I hope I am, but my daughter (6y/o) has been displaying symptoms that are scaring me. Right now she has a very swollen right tonsil and mild ear infection and her lymph node is very swollen…she is experiencing no pain. I google’d, and lymphoma was the first thing that showed up. I was hoping ot get advice as to whether this is something I should be having her tested.

Her symptoms:
- recurring rashes under her armpits and in the groin area
- recurring cough at night and in the morning
- growing pains usually at night
- stomach aches
- sweats at night, I’ll go in a check on her and she’ll be sweating
- mild asthma that just developed
- food allergies

The dr’s have told us that all the above symptoms are due to food allergies and asthma and simply prescribed a puffer and singular, neither of which I have given her. I opt’d to see a naturopathic dr. who says her stomach yeast count is off and that’s what is causing the issues, but she doesn’t know about the swollen tonsil, gave us some cream for it and said to come back in a week if she wasn’t better…it’s been 3 days and the tonsil size hasn’t changed, it’s probably been that large for over a week now.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thx.

Hi, effour:
I am not a doctor, but I do know that symptoms (treated or not) that do not improve should be checked by a board certified professional.

Perhaps since her symptoms have not improved, it might be advisable to get input from all types of doctors, altho' it seems you would prefer more natural medicines.

I hope you hang tough during this frightening time seeing your daughter ill. You have found a great community in this forum; hopefully, someone who reads your post will give you better information than I can. I can offer support and let you know that you and your daughter are on my thoughts and prayers.

Keep us posted on how she (and you) are doing.
Best,
Jessica

Hi there,

I really hope your daughter doesn't have cancer. Several of those symptoms are related to Hodgkins though so I suggest you see a specialist - hopefully it'll put your mind at rest but if not then she can get treatment to help her sooner.

Good luck and I'm thinking of you and your daughter,

xx
