Hello everyone,

I finished up 4 rounds of chemo on Sept. 21. Shortly thereafter my joints started creaking & cracking so bad, my neck sounds like I'm walking in kitty litter. My onco. says it's from the chemo. Has anyone experienced this, does it go away?

Also, I had my nodes removed end of June. Just recently, under my arm has become very sore . I just started walking again, about 3 miles 3-4 times a week. I wasn't sure if that could make it so sore. Is this normal?

I go for my first mammogram since my diag next week, I'm a bit scared .
My sister was recently diagnosed and they were not able to detect one of her tumors on mamm or ultrasound.

Thanks for listening,
Hugs
Sue

Leo,
I had 4 rounds of AC, every 3 weeks. I saw my radiation oncologist on Tuesday and he has ordered a ct scan and a bone scan, because the pain by my breast has gotten worse. He thought it was possibly inflamation from the radiation.

My mammogram was fine. Now I just have to get through these next 2 tests, I'm confident all will be fine.

Thanks for listening,
Sue

Hi Sue. I initially had a lumpectomy, with 17 nodes removed. The soreness under my arm, just below the scarline, at the side of the breast, never went away. It is a tenderness, like a puffy soreness. Subsequently, I had bilateral mastectomies and thought that finally my breast/underarm area would calm down. The soreness is still present. My onc said it may last for years. I think it had something to do with the rads, but I'm not sure. I had seroma in that area after the lumpectomy, with tenderness. That went away, but after rads, the soreness came back in the same spot and remains.

I had 4 AC and 4 Taxotere. I must say that after the taxotere, I have had ongoing body stiffness, creaking and joint aches. I got arthritis after Taxotere, along with a horrid case of sciatica, coccxydynia and a deformed thumb joint. I never had one ounce of a symptom, until taxotere. I don't crack and creek quite as severe as you do, but I am convinced my problems arose from the taxotere. AC gave me headaches and sinus problems. Chemo ended on 4/28/03 and rads ended on 7/15/03. Best to you.
