What does a gamma knife feel like?

Hi. I haven't been on here in awhile because I've been in denial for the past few weeks. My doctors say what I have is a low grade glioma that is inoperable. I was going to check into a gamma knife procedure, because someone just now told me about it. I was just wondering if i could get any advice, or if anyone could look at my image and let me know if you have, or know someone who has anything that looks like the thing in my head. I circled what the "problem" is on an un-enhanced mri.

I haven't found any pictures online that even looks like mine.

Noid, a gamma knife procedure is a form of radiation therapy that aims a weaker than normal beam from several different direction at a cancer. The only area that gets the full dosage is where the beam cross each other. This decreasing the amount of radiation to health (or in your case, healthier Laughing

) brain cells.

It's been a while friend!
Lovely photo of your bonce! The flower was gorgeous too!
Sorry to hear this "journey" has been soooo rocky for you, & also sorry to read of your fears about your treatment.
I don't know a thing about gamma-knife, sorry, but wanted to let you know I'm following your journey "on-line" & my prayers & thoughts are with you.
My Bro was told his GBMIV was inoperable (R frontal lobe tumour on brainstem) yet he's had 2 resections this year to debulk tumour growth. Why is it that they can't operate on yours (I can tell nothing from your MRI just that it's a good-looking head!).
My Bro's 1st resection left him with mobility deficits (May 07) & he's had no movement on his L side since then. He's in a wheelchair. No deficits from 2nd resection in Oct though, & he & his wife have just taken a 10day vacation to Hawaii.
My Bro also tried radiation (not successfully) & has been on chemo (Temodal) since March 07.
I hope you receive some insight & answers to your questions...then you may have some clarity on treatment choices.

the doctors think or are telling me that mind is inoperable because it's in the center of my brain, near the corpus collosus(sp)...i've heard of a procedure that they can go through the nose, but I cannot remember the name. On the image, it's tough to see, as it's not enhanced, but if you look within the purple circle..in the very very centre, you'll see a white dot, and then a circular pattern of cells around that dot, all the way out to the purple part...i have an enhanced version, but on that, it only looks like a white matter lesion, which makes it difficult to see the shape.
