I have a question regarding Osteoporosis and bone marrow disorders. Since the blood cells are formed in the bone marrow. Would severe osteoporosis have an effect on how well the bone marrow would function in creating healthy blood cells? I do realize that osteoporosis usually effects the hard outer portion of the bone. If the bone marrow were effected, would this result in a change in the DNA of blood cells that would be significant enough to cause leukopenia? Or, is Osteoporosis one of those diseases that has been popularized by Pharmaceuticals, much in the way that social anxiety has been popularized by Zoloft, Paxil ,ETC? ( Just noticed that Fosomax lost its Patent.

Don't know about bone marrow production - but what is that about Fosamax losing its patent and what does that signify??

I think that is a market manipulation event among pharmaceutical companies. But, it does allow copy cat companies to come in and manipulate the formula and then market it as their own. This is where the capitlistic system of marketing gets in the way of health sometimes. It happens pretty often in the psychotropic medications. The concoctions that some of these companies come up with are not very beneficial when they start tinkering with it.

Hello

Osteoporosis does not have an effect on bone marrow function or the development of cancer.

best regards,
