I have recently had many swollen lumps under my left arm. It will stay swollen for a few days and go away and the return again in a few days.

Is this a common problem? How would I know if I should see a doctor?

This is an uncommon issue. I think regardless of the cause, you should be seen by a Dr to make sure this is ok.
