my younger brother with the age 17 developed with the ADULT ON T-CELL LYMPHOBLASTIC LYMPHOMIA with the MULTIPLE CRANIAL NERVE PALSIES and ACUTE ON CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE. What I have learned from the souces and oncology medicos that only 10 percentage of chances of survival and It is in final stage, but, patient's physical appearnce is normal. It's really difficult to accept and digest and not in a position to come on one conclusion.

Iam really seeking the valuable suggestions

Hi deepakreddy. I am so sorry about your brother's cancer. I do not know much about Lymphomas so I do not know any options for you. I can say that since he has 3 major, life threatening issues at the same time the 10% is probably right... at least it is very low. However, a prognosis is just a statistical estimate... an "educated guess" if you will. I do like to know my prognosis but only in order do set some goals for the things that I would still like to do with whatever time I have left. After that, I try to set aside my prognosis and just life one day at a time working to achieve those goals. I am not saying this is an easy thing to do; it is probably the hardest... especially at the beginning of this terrible journey.

If I were you, I would try to help your brother first to identify those things that realistically he still can do and then you could be his own "dream factory" helping him to achieve those goals.

You and your brother are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Jim, I am sorry for your health and hopefully you recover soon. Coming to the Issue he don't know he developed all these symptoms. Speaking honestly he don't know the spelling of Cancer so, It's difficult to explain and convince him. More Importantly It's difficult to ask his short term goals and last desire. It's tough time anyway I will workout to know his dreams and aspirations.

While talking about his last wishes in important, what I am talking about need not be that significant. Even if he does not know or understand that he has cancer, I might still be able to answer the question: "What would you like to do today?" I used to ask my father that every morning. Sometimes his answers were something significant like: "I need to go to my attorney to update my will." However, most days it was something less significant like: "I want to go visit aunt ____." Whatever he said, I tried to make it happen. When it got so bad that he could not go see aunt ____, I helped him at least to phone her. Things like that were possible in his case until the day before he died.

So sorry to hear that your brother is so Ill. I cannot really give an opinion as the information you provided does not give me much to go on. It would be good to know what stage your brother is in this would be a help and also to know if he has B symptoms. I do know that the remission rate across the board for this type of cancer is over 90%, but many factors can affect this number. I also do not know wether your brothers other conditions are due to the cancer or if they were pre existing conditions.

I hope that you get some positive news soon and, something can provide you all with some hope. peace and good will to you and yours.
