Hi rhonda5511,

Don't give up. As long as cancer not spreading, your mom can have liver transplant either in States or outside of States if she does not meet criteria in States.

Dear Snower 06,
Thank you for your response but since that letter My Mom has died.

she passed away Feb. 2nd 2006. Her diagnosis happened to be lung cancer that had spread to her liver and her liver expanded 4 times its size.
The cancer was smal cell carcinoma and was responding very well to chemo. Her liver had shrunk about 60% and she was doing well. Around Jan 19th, the doctor did more tests and found that a different round of chemo was needed because the cells like to fight the medicine so her new chemo drugs were given to her Jan. 24th. By Jan. 29th she was admitted to the hospital because she was so weak. Monday, Jan. 30th she was told she only had less than a week to live and Tues. the 31st she was moved to the first floor of the hospital in the hospice unit. She died 2 days later and right up to the end she had not lost any bodily functions and her brain was still awesome. She gave it a good fight and she was such a trooper. I miss her and she touched so many lives and she was awe inspiring. I lost an incredible mother and best friend. But thank you for your letter and I found out no matter how bad it ever gets that maybe I'll have 1 ounce the bravery my mom had.
