Hi dear, I am one of the fortunate ones so far. With breast cancer you are never cured. Only when you die of old age calling a lovely nurse "mama".

I had a small Medullary breast cancer. I was misdiagnosed due to the shape on the mammogram. The surgeon thought because it was "smooth edged" it probably was not malignant. Two years later it was found to be a sub-type called medullary which is charactarized by "smooth edges". Bad luck.

Anyway I had a lumpectomy with radiation and except for a numb armpit, I am fine. It has been 6 years and it took about 1 & 1/2 years for me to stop thinking about it all the time. I was greatly helped by Paxil.

If you can think of any other questions, don't hesitate to post.

Gentle hugs, Shirlann
