new diagnosis

last week i found out my mom has cancer she was just recently diagnosed it started in her breasts and has spread to her liver rapidly i dont know what the name of it is i didnt think to ask they arent giving her alot of time this has been very shocking and devastating to me i am having a hard time dealing with it so much so that i have been sick to my stomach--nerves. i dont want to lose her this is very painful i am going to spend a week with her i am trying to get myself together to be their for her its about her not about me even though it hurts she comes first and i want to spend this time with her not with my emotions thanks for listening and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

i feel your pain as well. my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on october 27th. we are completely devasted. i just got home tonight from moving her things out of her house. she will be staying with my older sister now. it was really hard, she was very upset because she knows that the end is coming. we have a meeting with hospice tomorrow. she is young (64) and is a fighter. everyday is a struggle just to find the strenghth to get out of bed. i'm so depressed. she is my world as well as my children. i can't eat as well and i have developed bleeding ulcers. i just cherish every moment that i can now. i am fortunate enough to be able to be with her everyday. i take all good days as small presents from god. he is the only one who will get us through this. today my mother told me that now i won't have a reason to be afraid of death because she will be there to help me at that time. i cried. i also took that to heart. just take small baby steps. don't expect alot just accept the small gifts and just place them away as memories.

Thank you for sharing with me and for your advice i am leaving tomorrow for buffalo to spend some time with her and youre right it is very devastating my sister is home at the moment and i will be there while she is she is having us sort and pack stuff its so sad its like she is preparing i need to be strong while i am there this is about her and i love her so
