I would be really grateful if Dr.Leo could answer this (or anyone else if they can );If you get a result for Her2( done with ILC test )of 1+, is this truly a negative result? If so, how is this different from a result of 0?
I just want to be sure that I am negative, and not potentially positive.
Thankyou,
Sam

Hello

I am assuming you are talking about the Herceptest, an immunohistochemical method. All studies with Herceptin are done on people that are either 2+ or 3+. But is has been shown that people with no expression do not do better with Herceptin, and 1+ may be further tested by FISH. But this is a very complicated issue, and there is a lot of research about this still.

regards,
Leo
