| Hope I have come to the right place to ask this question. I'm 41 yrs. old and I smoked for 26 yrs. 1-2 packs a day up until about a month ago. I went to the dr. and he said I had acute bronchitis which I don't think he was right from what I've read on the internet. Ever since then though I've been having occasional pain in my chest below rib cage about 2 inches from my breast bone on left side and pain on same side from shoulder blade down below rib cage this pain is accompanied with numbness. I don't have any shortness of breath, wheezing or coughing, etc. as symptoms I've read about as far as lung cancer. The dr. did chest x-rays and said everything looked normal, but I've read x-rays don't show anything until it's big. So hopefully someone will read this that can tell me what this is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks |

It is not possible, proper, or ethical for someone to diagnose you over the internet. This especially true if the the person doing the diagnosing is not a qualified medical professional in the first place.
I understand your apprehension under the circumstances. I would recommend you get a second opinion asap.
I wish you the best. |

Mikes said it better than anyone else could....seek a second opinion
and xrays CAN show even the smallest irregularity
I was stunned to discover I had pneumonia, bronchitus and emphyesema with no real symptoms either.
Please do go for further testing, if for nothing else to ease your mind. |

| I recently read about 360 degree full body scans that cost roughly $600. They're not covered by most insurance, but it may be a small investment to provide you with peace of mind that you're looking for. Ask you physician where you can go for one. Good luck. |

| Just wanted to let everyone know I went to the dr. a few days ago and he decided to take a cat scan. I got the results back yesterday and they said they didn't find anything. Does anyone know how reliable a ct scan is as far as detecting cancer or any other abnormality. I'm still having pain and numbness in my chest and back only now it's on my right side also. I don't know what to do this is driving me crazy!!! Can someone please help me out here!! Thanks!! |
