Hi, My wife and I have a 7 year old Rottweiller bitch and she has just been diagnosed as having Hodgkinsons disease.
As I know nothing about this disease I would appreciate some information.
Firstly, is it the same as Hodgkins disease? Secondly, is it hereditary?
Thirdly, is it likely to be the same treatment for dogs as for humans? (Our vet has put her on steroids)

Hello

I am a physician, therefore I know very little about animals. I know that there are veterinarians that are specialized in cancer and will treat animals with cancer with chemotherapy.
