I'm new to the site, so I hope I am using it correctly. Anyway, I was recently diagnosed with Atypical ductal hyperplasia. However, it is benign, but informed that I am classified as high risk and will always need to be monitored. My concern is that I have breast implants and wonder if the implants could have contributed to my diagnosis, and if so, can they be a potential contributing factor if my condition was to evolve into cancer. Tracey: It's possible that there's a connection. Partly depends on whether your implants are saline or silicon. I have seen photos of implants removed that were completely Black! They were filled with a black fungus...hard to imagine that something like that WOULDN'T contribute to atypical cells. How long have yours been in place?

Joel,

Thanks for your reply. I have saline implants and have had them for 9 years. My breast doctor, and friends of mine, one a radiologist, the other a pathologist claim that the implants can not cause cancer.
