| Hey. New to this forum... Im a healthy 37 y/o male. There is no history of cancer in my family. About 3 weeks ago I started a high protien, high calorie diet for body building purposes. I was consuming high volumes of whey protien. Anyway, 12 days ago, I was somewhat consipated and passing large full stools. One morning I passed a stool and noticed blood on stool and streaks on TP. There was alos a sharp, burning pain when the stool passed. This discomfort lasted for hours. I have been cosnitpated and continued to notice blood covering stool. I saw my doctor a day later. He did a CBC, digital rectal and hemocult. All three were negative and he indciated I had fissures. I made a self referral to a very respsected GI specialist in Nashville. After discussing the symptoms with him, he indicated that hemrroids or fissures were repsonible and told me to come back in 3 weeks after using suppositories. The conspitpaion has eased, however, the sharp pain at exit and bloody stools are still present. I have no abdominal pain, except for odd, quick pokes in upper and lower abdomen. I can feel the location of the pain in the same location when the stool passes. I guess, I'll see if it clears and in 3 weeks ask for a scope if no resolve. In all I have had about 5-6 bowel movements with pain at same location and bloody stools. This has never happened before, although I may have noticed slight blood stain on TP years ago. I have alos been to the doctor for fatigue over the last 3-4 years but always have normal bloodwork. Basically I have rectal bleeding with sharp, searing pain when passing stools that can last for a while. |

HI, I really think you need a colonoscopy, this will determine if you do have colon cancer, when it comes to you health be very very proactive and do not let Drs mess you round as time is vital. Also ask to see any blood, or scan results...
Also maybe you can cout back on the protein stuff and make sure you are eating lots of veg and fruit,,
Best Wishes .................Rob |

Hey Sosua
I would definitely get your doctor to send you for a Colonoscopy
just to be certain that it is isn't something more sinister
It would give you peace of mind.. |
