Rec'd 2nd pathology report. Very bad news. It's Uterine, FIGO grade 3, clear cell. Told they will now take lymph glands up to the heart . Staging will occur after surgery & then chemo will start right away.

Not sure if I want to bother.

It sounds like recurrance is likely & life will be miserable. I live alone, have no kids, etc. My parents are quite elderly & brother lives elsewhere. My dog & kitties are going to be some help, but not alot when trying to get thru this. Not to mention the financial catastrophe that will ensue.

anybody else consider just forgetting about treatment other than pain management when the time comes?

Gloria,

I’m sorry about your cancer diagnosis but don’t understand why you would not want to be treated for this condition.

I was diagnosed with uterine (endometrial) cancer in 9/2005, stage 2A grade 3. Even though I have had two recurrences since that time, I do not feel my life has been miserable. I was not treated with chemo but had radiation treatment and am now cancer free. Radiation was not fun, but it wasn’t that bad.

I, too, am single, live alone and have no children other than my six cats which I consider my babies. I work full time and have missed no work due to my cancer with the exception of when I had my hysterectomy.

A cancer diagnosis can be very frightening but doesn’t have to be a death sentence.

Hi Gloria,

Been out of town for a while, and been ill with other stuff, and just now seeing your latest post on the forum. Sad I can really understand your pain, I really can. My life has been a real mess for some years now, BUT I can tell WITHOUT a doubt to FIGHT and NOT RESIGN to this thing! With treatment you have a chance!!! I agree with what wholeheartedly with what TheCalicoCat said, cancer does not have to be a death sentence! You are in my prayers, I know its hard, but FIGHT IT, you can win! Do the treatments! Let us know how things are going.

Rhonda

Well, this is the way I feel.

I just had a biopsy done and I don't know if I have cancer yet, but..
It will be what it will be.
I started dying the day i was born.
God put me here, and I am going to stay here till HE says its time to leave, and HE comes to take me home.

Now I don't want to sound like dr. Phil, but he does say, that, if you are sad, scared, depressed, down, angry, tired, or confused, this is NOT the time to make a decesion like this.

Talk to your doctor. Our brain chemistry can fool us into bad choices.
Beware the negitive voices that are speaking to you, they want you to quit.
I will not. I have 4 dogs and 3 cats that need me, and if you don't have family close by, then there are other church families that will embrace you. I don't care what faith you are, everyone has some form of faith. Don't shut yourself away, you may have insite on life that could really mean something to someone here. Look for them, and you will find your path.
