Does Prostasol Work?

So, you have been taking Prostasol, which is an unregulated substance that has been shown to be loaded with estrogen from plant sources (phytoestrogens). Estrogen can lower your PSA, but it can also give you blood clots.
Were you aware of that?

Here's what the American Cancer Society says:

Side effects associated with the use of PC-SPES included increased breast size and nipple tenderness or pain and a reduced sex drive. There was also an increased risk of blood clots, which are potentially fatal. Since PC-HOPE, Prostasol, and PC-CARE are reported to be quite similar to PC-SPES, side effects may also be similar.

Yes I am aware , I consider that the dose has to be regulated to a much smaller amount and have regulated my dose to suite me.

lots of treatments may??, I find may is a no committal term.

lots of treatments have side effects most drugs do ,do they all kill you?? no I dont think so.

since my last post on this thread back in '06, I had a biopsy in March '08 just to see how Prostasol was or not holding the PCa. The G had gone to 3 + 4, the staging was 2Ta from 1Tc, to cut a long story short I had seeds in August '08, absolutely no hassles of any sort. my PSA is still higher than I would like at 4.1. The urologist has no problem with my numbers, but I do, it is a constant nag in the back of my mind as to what and when to take action, or indeed is it necessary. I too had several DVTs, but then it runs in the family, probably the Prostasol exacerbated the situation. I was on Warfarin for a number of years but have now switched to 'heart aspirin'. The trick is to remain positive and keep monitoring without losing ones' perspective.

Traditionally, ginger (Zingiber officinale) has been taken to curb motion sickness and arthritis. Today, it has been reported to reduce blood clotting and on the opposite Parsley is extremely high in vitamin K which is essential for blood clotting. So when I was on the Warfarin which was only for about six months I stopped eating Parsley, which I love in my scramble eggs and started drinking ginger.
As it has been suggested that Prostasol “may” cause blood clotting I have continued drinking the ginger sometimes with a little Brandy

Just remember there were quacks long before doctors with little difference between the two, its just a matter of sorting out the wood from the trees

Hello to All,

Well it has been a long time since I posted on this site. You guys are talking right down my alley. I am alive and still ticking. Very Happy

I am still taking prostasol and have PSA checked often.very often. I just updated my story on YANA but it will take a few days for Terry to get it posted. Rather than go in to details, if you want to see my story about prostasol you can go to: http://www.yananow.net/Mentors/CharlieR.htm I would suggest that you wait a few days so that my results I have had with Prostasol will be posted by Terry. My PSA is currently 2.00 and I adjust my dosage depending on my PSA readings. I am currently only taking 3 Prostasol capsules a week...Monday - Wednesday - Friday. I have been able to adjust my dosage to keep PSA down to what I feel comfortaable with. I don't know of any evidence that can absolutely verify that Prostasol causes DVT. I did have a blood clot in leg in Feb 2008 and stopped it for about a month and PSA was going up fast so I started back on it and have been taking it ever since. It does keep my PSA down,

Hi All
Got my latest two month PSA result 0.29 and that is taking a ¼ of the 915mg tablet each day of the old Prostasol .I have a pill cutter that I can cut up the 915mg tablet in “quarters” I think that by taking Prostasol each day, keeps a supply in the body and the graph curve with less highs and lows, I have tried to cut the dose back smaller but the PSA started move up and when I got a bit slack “not taking it every day it also started to move up” I don't have the sensitive nipples anymore but still have the old man boobs, but that could be me being a little over weight.
So guys don't let this cancer rule your life, go fishing or something.
