I've just been discharged from Hospital after having a Hysterectomy last Monday. My lymphnodes and cervix were not involved. My final Diagnosis is Endometrial Adenocarcinoma FIGO stage 1b.

I feel great, it's so good to know that the tumor is gone and now I can get on with the recovery process.

I have an appoitmentat the Clinic on Thursday to discuss Radiation.

Just wanted to share this good news.

Very Happy Hi Pixie!

Your doctors were right on target with your diagnosis! I thank God you caught it in such an early stage. This is truly good news! Yeah, having cancer wreaks, but it is certainly better to catch this evil beast early. Your statistical prognosis is great!

I am very interested in how your radiation oncologist devises your treatment. Whenever you feel up to it, let us know here. It varies so much depending on the staging.

Pixie, I am rejoicing with you! You will come out of this just fine. Keep us updated when you get a chance, and I wish you a speedy recovery from your hysterectomy. Take care of yourself, Wink

Rhonda

Thanks for the good wishes Rhonda Laughing

I'll know tomorrow whether I need Radiation or not, normally for stage 1b I wouldn't need it but because I'm so young (HA HA) they are considering it.

Best wishes, and I'm glad the cervix and lymph-nodes were not involved so it sounds like they caught it early. Do keep us in the loop!!

Thanks for the good wishes dervishgal.

They've decided I need Radiation (OH HELP), I have my first appointment tomorrow, I hope it is just a discussion and not the first treatment.

I am terrified about the treatment itself and the side effects (I already have nausea thinking about it Smile )

Which type of radiation is it? I'm still new to discovering what it all means, but is it internal or external? I'd take it as license to be as self-indulgent as you like, friends and relatives beware bwahahahaha. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Pixie,Very Happy

Be prepared! When I went the first time to discuss radiation, they did what is called "marks" on my body. They also performed radiation without telling me-- I didn't know until I got on the highway and became violently nauseated. My sister was with me and said she never seen anyone throw up the way I did, to be quite blunt (it was like in slow motion--just giving you more info than you ever wanted to know!). Laughing

Not trying to scare you, but just in case they do radiate; have something to throw up in. I think it was likely just the facility I went to anyway. I will be praying for your, radiation can be tough--particularly to the pelvis the first couple of weeks. It gave a metallic taste in my mouth, I totally lost my appetite, and was in a state of nausea all the time. Applesauce, chips, crackers and 7 Up was my menu for the first couple of weeks, then soup. I found ginger supplements helped my nausea. Let us know how things are going for you! Take care,

Rhonda
