Hi !

My husband 67 years old was diagnosed 10 months ago with Multiple Myeloma Stage III with Secondary Amyloidosis. No pain. Has undergone chemo with VAD with remission after 2 months. Still in remission. He is now being treated with Thalidomide 100 mg/day and Eprex 20,000/weekly for anemia. His hemoglobyn is low and he is out of breath. The doctor will not increase Eprex to 40,000/weekly because of risk of thrombosis.

1 )What is the prognosis without a bone marrow tansplant ?

2) What is the prognosis with a bone marrow transplant ?

1) Is Stage I of Multiple Myeloma treatable with medication ? with chemo ?
or a bone marrow transplant ?

2) Is Stage II of Multiple Myeloma treatable with medication ? with chemo ? or a bone marrow transplant ?

2) Can a bone marrow transplant give a complete cure to a Multiple Myeloma patient ? at Stage I ? at Stage II ? at Stage III ?
