|
|
| Okay so I have 5 lumps througout my body. I have 2 near my groin, 2 on neck, and 1 forming near my collar bone. I have had some of them for a few months now, and I doubt it's an infection because my blood test came back fine. Lymphoma can't be detected through a blood test though so I'm still nervous because I' always tired. I sleep everyday after school, and I seem to get a headache occasionally. Someone please convince me I'm okay because I'm only 15...I was also diagnosed with chronic fatigue and I have these little red pimple looking things on my shoulders, but they're not pimples becuase they have no puss in them. |

Hi Danny
Sorry to hear this is troubling you so much.
Normal nodes are the size of jelly beans. If you are really concerned you should go and see a doctor. There's not a lot more I can do, its really up to you.

Danny,
Danny,
I agree with ChemoMan. We are not doctors in this forum...just patients. They will need to determine what the lumps are.
Having raised teenagers of my own and having taught in middle school for 13 years, I would ask the following:
How much sleep are you getting at night? Are you really going to sleep, or are you staying up playing on the computer? I am not saying that you are, but I know that this happens a lot, eventhough the parents swear that their child is in bed asleep, and could be the cause of your chronic fatigue. As a teacher, I have had many parent conferences about this.
About the little blemishes on your shoulder...well...you are 15 and they are probably normal. _________________ Don B

Hi Danny,
I'm afraid the only way we can convince you that you don't have lymphoma is if you have the nodes biopsied and the results come back negative. If you take time going through the past messages on this board, you'll find all kinds of reasons for enlarged nodes besides lymphoma.
As you are only 15 years old, you are not old enough to make medical decisions on your own behalf. If you haven't already, please tell your parents or guardians about what is worrying you so that they can get the ball rolling if need be.
Good luck! _________________ Age 37 (36 at diagnosis)

Another word of advise Danny,
Don't try to diagnose yourself by going to internet sites. You will just drive yourself crazy and you make the wrong diagnosis...guaranteed. _________________ Don B
