Lapatinib (brand name Tykerb), approved in 2007 to treat Breast Cancer, has successfully undergone a Phase I study (Safety) for Squamous Cell Carcinomas of the Head and Neck. This study was conducted at by The Institute of Cancer Research, London and others. As a result, the researches recommend that Lapatinib start a Phase II study (Effectiveness).
