My Aunt has colon cancer.
I was doing some research and found there is a BMT treatment.
Has anyone gone thru one? Can anyone give me more info on the sucess rate? Is this like a last result treatment?
Gosh, any info would be great.
Thanks....

Hello

Bone marrow transplant for colon cancer is not an usual treatment. It is usually surgery and chemotherapy, if possible. There are many new treatments today for colon cancer.

regards,
Leo

Hi Leo, thank you for your reply.
What if the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes? And the doctor says she has a 30% survial? Do you think then that a BMT would be a good idea?

Hello

Hard to say. Like I said only in few cases BMT is used, and it is really not routine for this. If you are talking about high-dose chemotherapy, which is called autollogous bone marrow transplant, it could be an option.

best regards,
Leo
