Hi all. I was diagnosed with CLL two years ago at the age of 49. I have worked very hard since then coming to terms with my diagnosis...and learning what I can about the disease. I have a question still unanswered in my questing...and I was hoping someone here can give me some insight. My question lies with the WBC. Is there any guideline...even grossly general....as to at what point the wcb might start generating troublesome symptons? So far...my count has been climbing very slowly (which im extremely grateful for). Im now at 21.0 with 75% lymphocytes and 20% neutrophyls....and have very few symptoms. I know there is no cut and dried answer.....but what exactly is bad? Is it 70.0.....100...30? I have young children at home....I was 42 when my youngest was born...and my husband and I both felt we did not want to burden our children with news of my cancer when I had no problems yet...and might not for years to come. So my children are still innocent...but Im worried about how much longer I can hide this. Any help and insights would be greatly appreciated

Hi Linda, my father died just over 2 years ago of ALL so his cancer was very bad all at once. His WBC got into the hundreds and plantlests dropped way down to below 30. Unfortunately, I did not keep any of the many test report he had or I could be more specific.

I am sorry about your cancer and will be thinking about and praying for you.
