My Husband is 48 and diagnosed with stomach cancer. Because it was found in his supraclavicular lymph node (left breastbone area) it was staged at stage IV and no surgery is being done , just chemo. Any chance of remission?

Hi vwaldean. I am very sorry about your husband's cancer. I know little about stomach cancers so I cannot give you a specific answer to your question. I hope the chemo does but his cancer into remission.

You and your father are in my thoughts and prayers.

My husband received induction chemotherapy for stage IV GE junction adenocarcinoma which was also spread to the supraclavicular lymph nodes. His PET scan after induction chemotherapy was completely negaative. He just completed radiation and weekly chemo last week. Remission is possible. Stay positive.

Sorry to hear about your husband's cancer, my aunt is going through the same thing. I am trying to know what stage the cancer is (for what I found around the web, it's stage IV) as the doctors didn't talk about all these. I am trying to search the maximum about that cancer.
She's starting chemo today, we got advice from a doctor from hong kong via a cousin. He said she has 50/50 chance while docs here said she has only 3 months to live.
We're seeing the positive of things. I hope everything goes well for your husband.

Ruby, please not that this thread is almost a year old and that the originator has never replied to the two comment he/she has already received. It is OK to revive an old topic if you have something substantive to add or to comment on. But I would not hold my breath expecting the originator to reply.

No need to apologize Ruby Smile. I was not getting on to your case just letting you know to not expect a reply. I have already replied to the thread you initiated although unfortunately I do not have an answer for you.

Keep asking good questions and hopefully someone with good information will reply.

Hi, Never give up hope! My husband is 53 and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric and Liver Cancer in Aug of 08. He has had no chemo/radiation or any other treatments. The radiation doctor told us that he would kill my husband with the radiation treatments so he recommended that we do nothing at all. He told us to come back and see him when my husband was in pain and then he could help him. He is alive and well today almost one year later. The doctor gave him 3 months to live if he had the treatments. He has had no pain at all. We found out through a PET scan two weeks ago that the cancer has spread throughout his body. Still no pain. He has not taken any meds at all. We live each and every day to the fullest. We are now both retired and work around our house and take trips to places that we have always wanted to go. So please no matter what anyone chooses never give up HOPE. We both believe in God and we believe that we have been truly blessed. The doctor also told us that he would be gone within days after the Pet scan. Well he is still here and right now he is out working in the garage. So keep a positive attitude. Laugh and love it will carry you through everything.

Hi,
My father was diagnosed with stomach cancer in April 09. Unfortunately during the surgery he got a abcess on his pancreas and is still trying to recover from it. Due to this, the doctors do not want to start chemo or radiation I wonder if this weakness due to the pancreatitis type situation will make him weaker in being able to fight cancer ?

Alannajane,
I hope your husband and you all the luck and good fortune.
