Lymph Glands/ Lymph Node sensitvity on neck with breast cancer

Had an ultrasound and have not heard from my PCP but the technician says that the neck LN are working overtime due to the ones removed under my arm (axillary dissection) when I had my lumpectomy. Does this make sense and should I be really concerned Confused

Hi,
I had all my nodes removed when I had my mastectomy. I've never heard that your neck LN work overtime if you have your auxiliary nodes removed, but that doesn't mean it's not true. I'd wait and see what you onco had to say, he/she will know more then the tech.
Let me know, I'm curious.

Hello

It might mean that the remaining nodes have to work for the ones that were taken out... still, the technician should never made any comment, as it is up to the physician to interpret the test and correlate that with the patient's presentation.

best regards,
Leo
