I know for a lot of people, herbs and supplements are a lot of hooey.
But with my friend's treatment for grand mal(sp) seisures, depression, and my husband's weird condition last year. I'm more and more trustful of eastern practices. As i said in my other post, on the melanoma forum, I have consulted a chinese Dr who is an herbalist for her melanoma tumors. I wish it had come to mind to seek this for her months ago but i was so overwelmed with her conditon that it honestly didn't cross my mind. Now it might be too late, i realize that but chinese herbs can do marvelous things. It cured my friend of grand mal seisures and got her completely off medicine. If anyone knows about these seisures, a person has to take medicine for the rest of their lives. My husband last year had a weird condition with no name. He's get head rushes, fast heart beats, insomnia and had depression for 10 months until we sought eastern medicine. he had scans done of head, abdomen, blood tests monthly, everything. doctors wanted him on depression medicine because they thought it was mental. On my insistence i said no. I don't trust those depression drugs. He went to an acupuncturist who also prescribes herbs.
after 5 months on herbs, he's cured. not one more incident of fast heart beats, or insomnia or depression.
the acupuncturist basically told him he had adrenal fatique from a previous cortisone shot. Something the acupuncturists calls poison.
I'm not seeking herbs for my mother but while looking up information I came across some things that chinese practitioners say helps melanoma to grow.
some of which is sugar, garlic, peony, and phenylalanine(nutrasweet)
Has anyone sought out eastern medicine for melanoma prevention or treatment? What have you found? |

Hmm, I could have sworn i had a reply to this thread.
Anyway, the chinese herbs finally came yesterday while i was still at my mom's house. He send A LOT pills and two teas enclosed with a handbook.
My mother was a bit overwhelmed with how many she is supposed to take at a time so i kinda made a schedule. the first time she told them, she threw them up. It was just too much at one time. so now we have her taking them two pills at a time, every 30 minutes. one does is 22 pills, for a total of 66 a day. I know that's alot but his theory is to shock the tumors. This is basically her last chance as her doctor has given up basically. |

Hi
I hope your mother is having conventional therapy. The herbs will not help at all and if you rely on them you will lose your mother very quickly.
I will include a link for you to read. its by a man called Richard Craven who lost his wife to breast cancer when it could have been avoided. I urge you to read it and think about it carefully, the rest of the site is a very good read as well.

Herbs cannot cure cancer. They never have and they never will.

Floridagirl2, you did have a reply but I deleted it when I deleted that member because he/she was violating our "no ads" policy.
ChemoMan, I don't think I would quite as forcefully say that "Herbs cannot cure cancer. They never have and they never will." I never talk about "cure" for any cancer so to that degree, I do agree. But 70% of known medications currently on the market come from organic sources (plants, bacteria, fungi...). I also come from a very homeopathic background and do not totally discount other health benefits of herbs. The distinction I try to make is that some medicines have undergone extensive, scientific studies and have been shown to be safe and effective while others have only anecdotal evidence. _________________ Jim

I had a friend who had Colon cancer, and had part of his colon removed but it came back, he elected to not take chemo treatment and follow a friends advice of taking Barley Green, he kept up his visits with the doctor who in a little over a year was told there was no cancer to be seen. But he still takes the Barley Green daily. When he found out about my cancer he wanted me to take the stuff, I believe him and all, but I have taken herbal remedies on and off to cure all kinds of things that are far simpler that cancer, that never benefited me so as I could tell. So you could say I'm a skeptic in this field. I wont say that some remedies wont work in some places at some times for some people. Just I personally have little faith in it. But I still might try Barley Green. I want to talk first to other people that have used it.
By the way looking for a home for large bottles of Aloe, Spirulina, Pomegranate juice, Mona VIE acui blended juice, a box of Life pak nano dietary supplements and likely more stuff we already found a hiding place for. All of this and more given to me out of love, thought I was never once asked would you like any of it or research it and let me know.? It's all yours just come and get it next time your in Hawaii, d . _________________ 54 year old male in Hawaii
