Hey Guys,
Thought I'd tell you folks that today is my mom's birthday...she would have been 81 years young, but as some of you remember, we lost her on December 14th 07 to NSCLC. It's been a very reflective day. You all have a wonderful weekend, and keep my family in your thoughts and prayers...Kim

That is a tough one, isn't it? My mom's birthday was March 17th. she would have been 82. That day and this past Sunday were tough ones for me.

I hope things are getting better for you. I have a few bad days here and there....yesterday, for some reason, was a bad one. Bawled most of the day.

Hey Tera,
I completely understand both kinds of days...You know Tera, it just seems to me that a lot of folks think, "Oh, 81 or 82...they lived a good long life...it's to be expected at that age anyway" But they so have a will to live just like younger folks do, and besides, who's to say that their lives are any less important or less missed just because they're older, right? I love my mom so so very much...and I miss the heck out of her. We released balloons with messages on them up to her on Mother's Day. Tera, have a great week...take care, Kim in NC

Well done, I think letting off balloons are a beutiful gift.
I know my husband will not be with me on our anniversary, so on 14th June I will do this! (I was scared of facing this day, soon)!
Every living life is special!
Bon Courage!

It is scary to face the inevitability of a loved one's passing away. I know it is tough and hard to face. Hang in there. Sending a virtual big bear hug.

I'm so sorry - must have been a hard day. Remember a birthday symbolizes life and the special day that your mom was brought into this world - and eventually became your mom.....
My mom is in her last days - so I can kinda get it. Her birthday is June 2nd and chances are we will not have her and be having a funeral.

You may not have her in the physical sense but your bond with your mom is so tight Caligirl, that I have no doubt that your mom will always be by your side. Same for you Koik with your husband. I believe that my mom is always with me but I still miss her because I can't physically see her. Crying or Very sad

Yes Tera...exactly and accurately reflects my own feelings. I can feel her, so I know that she's still with me, but the thought of not seeing her again in this life still makes me so sad. I know it sounds cliche(spelling?) to say that I'll see her again when I pass...but I'll say it, with assurance, anyway!
Koik--I've been following your story/journey--((((((((prayers to you)))))))))
