First things first. I am new to this site but have been reading the posts and comments since April 7th when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I big thank you to everyone who shares their experiences here it was a great help.

When my Doc told me of the cancer I, like evryone else, was in a state of shock. How could a 50 year old man in good health and in pretty good physical condition have the big C. Well we all know the answer to that one.

My Doctor scared hell out of me an very simply told me that seed therapy or anything other than surgery was out of the question.(psa 3.2/gleason 3+4.

Thank goodness I continued to do my research. When I spoke with the surgeon at Mayo he said that I really needed to take my time look at all of the options availble before I jumped in. Then he said at my stage he felt that no matter what I decided my long term outcome would be the same.

Enough for me. I met with the Oncologist and discussed the seed therapy and decided that was for me.

April 25 th the doctors preformed the procedure at 7:30 am. back in my room by 10:30, slept off and on with very little discomfort and certainly no horrible pain to deal with. At 1:00 pm they did a cat scan to make sure the seeds were where they wanted them(they were) pulled my cath. and as soon as I was able to urinate they sent me home.

I was alittle tired that weekend but not bad only took my pain pill before bed but I think I could ave gotten by on tylenol alone.

I was very concerned about when I would be able to get an erection and called my Doc. He said to take cialis twice a week. Well I took 1/2 a pill and the erection was right there as always.

i know this is long and I apologize. I am just very glad that there is a place for everyone to share information and experiences.

Thank you all so much.

Good luck to all

ps I go back in 4 months for my first check up

Hi drs. Welcome to the forum. I am sorry about your cancer but happy that things are going so well with you. I pray that things continue to go well for you.

Thank you for sharing your story. As you said in your message, sharing our stories can and does help people even if they do not post their own stories Smile.
