Hello,
I would first like to thank everyone on this forum for all their kind thoughts and information regarding my Dad's recent cancer diagnosis.
Sadly, Dad passed away early this morning with all of his family around him. It has been a very difficult process to watch him suffer but God took him to a better place.
During his ordeal we researched and were able to obtain the drug Tarceva. Unfortunately, it was too late for him and he had been on it for 6 days.
Is there any legal way to donate the rest of his medication of 24 pills? I know it was almost $4,000.00 for the prescription which the VA covered but there are many not so fortunate to be able to have this medicine covered.
Thanks again so much for all your posts.
Lorri and family

Lorri, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. And bless you for thinking of others at such a difficult time. I'm not sure how you can donate the meds, but I'm sure someone may have an answer for you.

Unfortunately, there really is no legal way do donate any type of left over medicine. It sucks Sad.

Oh Dear Lorri,

I'm so very sorry to hear that your Dad passed away. I so had hoped that something would give him more time. My heart goes out to you and your family. God bless all of you.

You can call the oncologist and see what they say about the meds, but I don't think there is any legal way to give the meds away. It's a shame and I hear this question asked a lot.

Many hugs for peace,
PBJ

I am sorry to hear of your father's death - my condolences.

There are in fact some places that will take unused medications: do a google on "unused medications donations" - it will turn up a number of sites to look into. It may well depend on what State you are in.
