hi, my name is bryan
first i would like to say ive been reading here and i must say you guys are about the bravest bunch ive ever seen.
i am 42 years old, male, and long time smoker.
recently ive been having some discomfort im my upper right chest, and what seems like chest cold symptoms, but mostly only in the right upper side.
the strange part is that i am having some pain in my neck in the right side, about halfway from my chin to my collar bone. if i didnt know better (and i dont) i would decribe it as a very sore jugular vein or coratod artery. when i feel for my pulse in my neck, its very sore, painful when i find it. in the last 48hrs, this has started to be accompanied by some nasal congestion.
i have serious dr phobia, and thought i would get an opinion here first.
does this sound like anything anyone here has experienced?
thx, bryan. |

Bryan,
This wasn't the way my husband presented with his lung cancer. I have no answers and do understand your Doctor phobia, but you really need to have this checked out for your own health and peace of mind. Please go to the doctor and let them examine and test you. The sooner the better because it may be nothing and you'll have answers. It may just be a nasty flu-bug or something, but better to know than not to know.
Best of luck,

| I agree with PBJ, Bryan. It is best to get it checked out. It can set your mind at ease. |

I am a colon cancer patient, but I think this will apply to you. See if you can get a PET scan. If you have any cancerous tumors in your lungs, or anywhere else, they should glow brightly on the PET scan
Please get checked. The earlier you can catch cancer, the better your survival rate. And if it is not cancer, then you'll be reassured. _________________ 10/01/07 - Removal of Stage III Colon Cancer Tumor and Temporary Colostomy

You know, the way you describe it, especially with the onset of nasal congestion, I'm inclined to think it could simply be an infection. Maybe a sore lymph node from an infection draining from your sinuses. But still, better to get it checked out because even with an infection, you could at least get on antibiotics.
Keep us informed. |

Bryan,
So??? Have you made a doctor's appointment or seen one yet? (She says with hand on hip, tapping her toe like a Mom... )
Please keep us updated. Okay?
