Hi

I got this sad news last week that my father has got Primary Liver cancer. He is in Pakistan and I was with him for 6 weeks. He has Hepititus C for past six years and the dr whome he used to visit never bothered to do Liver Scan. While I was with him, I persuaded him to do some tests, considering his detriorating health. H has truned into pale, tirdness, feeling itchy, loss of appetite etc. He got he results last week while I was back in UK. My brother got two different appointment with two top hopsitals but both gave the opinion that its too late to start treatment. He is 73 now. I am totally torn apart. Dr gave him 4-6 months to live. I am planning to go back and spend some time with him. In the meanwhile instead of turning towards Medical Drs (who refused furthur treatments), I am thinking towards to make an appointment wtih a well qualified and experienced Homeopath. I have heard that Homepath has some sort of treatment for Liver Cancer. I am not sure of it. Does someone have an idea about Homeopahic treatment? Its so hard to feel and know that someone whom you love a lot, is dying......

Hi Tmahmood,

I was in a similar situation as you are now with your father. My father also had Hepatitis (except his was Hep B) and when he was diagnosed with primary liver cancer, I too was shocked to find out that he had been seeing the same primary physician for years and years and my dad never had a liver scan. At the time of his diagnosis, my father didn't have any options for treatment either. He was initially told possible surgery and then it was no longer an option and we were left with nothing.

My dad wanted to fight and we were so determined for him to live so I searched the internet endlessly for clinical trials, alternative medicine, anything to help my dad. Unfortunately, my dad lost his battle in the end, but we fought with him 'til the end. I learned a lot in dealing with my dad's illness so my advice to you now is spend as much time as you can with your dad and do everything in your power (even if others try to tell you otherwise) to help find treatment for your dad...................you've got nothing to lose at this point as long as you know that your dad wants to fight. I heard homeopathic medicine or alternative medicine (although is not FDA approved) can do wonders for cancer patients...........you just need to have faith. Toward the end of my dad's life, our last resort was with a clinic called New Hope Medical Center. If we were able to bring my dad there sooner, I believe that my dad would've had a fighting chance to buy more time. He was able to spend a week there and it did help him, but he succumbed to pneumonia in the end. In any case, check out their website and see for yourself. GOOD LUCK!

Tmahmood, I am very sorry about your father's cancer. Both of my parents died of cancer or complications due to cancer. It was hard for me because I was their primary care provider. But I feel that it was an honor to be able to care for them during there last days.

You and you family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello,
We were faced with the same situation. But, also, we felt that we were not given a life expectancy for our mother. Looking back, i felt we were not fully prepared for my mother's eventual passing. So when the time came, it was a shock to us all.

My mother contracted Cirrohosis through blood transfusion in 1975. We did not even realise she had HCV until after the HCC diagnosis, last year, February 2007.

My thoughts are with your family.

Hello

My dad died on 7th of March. I reached Pakistan on 25th of Feb to share sometime with him. when I reached there, he was in senses and could utter few words, though most of the time he was a nausea.
It was so quick that I still feel that it is just a dream.

Oh Tmahmood, I am so very sorry that your father died. I can only imagine how hard this time is for you. It must be more like a nightmare than a dream. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
