My girlfirend was just diagnosed a few weeks ago with lung cancer. Now shes in a " live life to its fullest" attitude, and wants to get a tattoo. She just had her first chemo treatment last week. Is the tattoo thing a good idea?

Oh dear!

I think the best advice would be to persuade her to ask her oncology team. I suspect they will say wait till the chemo is over as the risk of infection may be too high.

Good On her!!!!!!!

- but maybe not a great idea for right this second. Ask her medicial team- if she can't- try Henna (plant extract- that does great temperory tatts) that way she can have a different one each month or so, and choose which one she likes more. Try a beauty Salon, Nails etc. for the airbrush one- cost less, not as detailed, but quick and great.

Or maybe she has to do something else....passenger in a car race, or race course. Back of a motor bike, absailing.

But please be very careful and ask all advice from medical team, as make sure that full comident professionals, and remember she maybe weak, and enegy maybe a problem for some things (safty wise). But some things like Para gliding off a boat. is soft easy, and even spirtual. she just sits and enjoys the glide....

Hope this helps a little.

Although I do agree with her general "live life to its fullest" attitude, I agree with Vee that it might expose her to a greater risk of infections. In has some good alternatives to ink based tattoos.
