yesterday today and tomm. will all be a blur to me anymore..as of now i really dont know where my life is heading, kinda just living it as the days go but..things with my mom have gotten better in a way you could say...she got surgery and they got 80% of the cancer out. she was at stage3c. today shes living day by day dealing with chemo. she decided to shave her head the other day, her hair was falling out like crazy and she didnt want to deal with it. i had gotten home from school and just looked at her and started crying. the mother that i had always loved and always cared for was falling apart and i could tell by her eyes..usallly 2 days after her chemo i find her on the bathroom floor at 2 am crying cause she doesnt want to do this anymore...to just give up...the thing she always asks " Megan do you really need me, i wish i could just die, meg is that okay with you" and shes cryingg like crazy...and i never have the words to speak back i just cry with her untill i get her up and into bed...

never give up on the people you love, never
i may have to deal with my mom trying to
give up on herself, but i will never let her
im 16 and im not losing her...im not...

Megan, it has been a long time! I am very sorry that the chemo is making your mother so sick. It is almost impossible for me to believe how much courage it takes for a 16 year older to have to face this with her mother!! Do you have any help... any support for you?

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother.

I moved both of your topics to the ovarial cancer forum so that you might get more support and better information from others who have had ovarian cancer or have been care givers to women with ovarian cancer.

Megan,

Oh God bless you! I stumbled into this forum tonight I guess because it is the 23rd anniversary of losing my mother to ovarian cancer. Having to cope with being a caregiver at 16 is absolutely stunning to me. (I just lost my husband to a 2 1/2 year battle with lung cancer, so I'm pretty savvy when it comes to caregiving.)

I pray your mom can find the right combo of medicines to help her with the nausea and sickness. What is she taking both for nausea and her current chemo regimen?

I know my mom had a very rough time with blood counts and nausea also, but that was back in the early 80's. Having just been through this with my husband, I know there are some pretty good medicines to help with side-effects nowadays. I hope she is pressing her doctor for some help. I guess my mom was also a stage III. She had at least 3 surgeries, as I recall, two different rounds of chemo, and strip radiation to her abdominal area. She did survive 2 1/2 years back then, so I hope good things will happen for your mom. Our oncologist did tell me that ovarian cancer has come a long way treatment wise in the past 5+ years.

Take care of yourself too. You are awesome!

I have no idea what you are going through, It must be so difficult....((sigh))
Please know that you are strong, and by your strength you are helping your mom, even if it does not seem so.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
