Wow! Ok so I had my LEEP procedure done today... It wasn't too terrible what so ever. The only thing that scared me to death was the fact that they have this needle that looks like its about 5 inches long and about as big around as a pencil but in reality there is just a tiny needle at the end, the "stick" part leading to the needle is just so she could get get the needle to where it needed to be. I won't lie, the first 2 sticks with the needle did hurt, but after that I didn't feel a thing, it starts working right away. The medication they use to numb up your cervix has some kind of adrenaline in it, so you first feel really shaky and your heart beats really fast. The procedure itself took about 10 minutes total, and I saw the part that they took out, it was kinda gross . My husband went with me today, he talked to the nurse and to my doctor but left when they were going to begin. He has a very weak stomach. As far as after treatment do's and don'ts, its pretty easy. No tampons or intercourse for 2 weeks, no lifting heavy objects or working out very much. Basically I'm just to take it easy for the two weeks and back to normal. I have a follow up pap scheduled in 4 months, as long as the pathologist thinks everything was taken care of with this procedure. As far as our infertility problems and ttc go, we were advised to wait for 6 months to start trying again, that way my cervix has plenty of time to heal and get strong enough to support a baby. I really can't wait until I am healthy enough to start trying again, it has been an emotional roller-coaster with all these uncertainties and questions but I'm glad that its almost over. I'll keep in touch while waiting for the pathologists tests coming back and my follow ups. Thanks so much for all your help and support these last couple of months.
Merry Christmas!

Hi Libby-
Great to see things have gone ok, and nothing unusual has popped up. The leep is uncomfortable etc, but it seems to work well and a thorough treatment- fingers crossed.
Enjoy these two weeks. Spend some quite and romantic time together resting and cuddling and watching movies together.
Have A great Christmas and we'll see you in the new year if not before.
Keep the attitude going. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

Hi Inica
We had a great Christmas, how was yours?
Everything seems to be going pretty well post LEEP. I was really sore days 3-8 ish but thats all past now. They are going to do fertility testing starting on January 8, which also happens to be our anniversary . We are hoping we can get it all figured out by 6 months, when we are able to start trying again. Ill keep ya posted =)
