Hello!

I am new to this board and am in need of some advice. I am a 28 yr old female with no (known) family history of skin cancer. However I have a very strong family history of cancer in general. Dad has had cancer twice (in remission)and mom passed away from it.

Last year I had to have surgery to remove 2 moles that came back dysplastic nevi aka precancerous melanoma cells. I have had 4 mole removed and 2 came back atypical. The one on my leg they had to go back twice to remoce all the cells. I now get checked every 6 months.

I just heard from the Dr that the last mole they removed came back precancerous and needs to be removed.

Is there something more I can/should do, other than keep removing them?? Should I see a cancer specialist. Someone other then the dermotologist?

I am getting very concerned. Any and all advice welcome.

bugsy723, I am very sorry about your ongoing struggle with skin cancer. There are several things that you should do. Obviously, avoid sun bathing or tanning beds. You might want to start using a body cream that also has a sun block in it. Have the doctors done any scans on you to make sure the cancer has not spread already? If not, you should ask about having a scan done. Finally, continue your six month check ups unless you spot a mole before that time.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOURS.
