Hello,
Six weeks ago I underwent a radical prostatectomy, the cancer was locally contained within the prostate and a pathology report afterwards confirmed this good news. I have healed well and even have good urinary control, there is however a persistent problem concerning ED. I can attain an orgasm without problem, yet there is no erection, I tried Cialis with no luck. I realize that a man`s orgasm is mind controlled and his erection is completely seperate, more a product of blood flow and nerves. My questions are, Is it too early yet and will the nerves and blood vessels that were cut regenerate? I would like to hear from other men who have experienced the same thing.

I had a response 1 week after the surgery. Did you have nerve sparing?

HI. I too had radical prostrate removal robot assisted and nerve sparing surgery. Now 5 months ago. I have gotten pretty good urinary control, still leak when I sneeze/cough or lift something heavy.
BUT I have yet to have a "natural"erection. the pills don't work, the Muse hurts like heck..the only thing that has worked is the "shot". With the right dosage it is pretty much like it was before. Orgasm is achievable even with out a erection. Helps to have a understand and helpful woman.
Doctor says to wait a year before thinking it will not get better and then think of other alternatives to the shot.
Right now I am pretty depressed about it, my mind looks at women the way it used to, it really hurts that the body seems like it is not listening.....I'll wait but I am not interested in any mechanical devices being put in... Sure seem like there are a lot more guys with ED than the doctor indicated BEFORE I had the surgery. Guess it could be worse though???

I too, did not respond to Cialis, nor Viagra for that matter, after RP. I am doing the injections with Trimix (from a compounding pharmacy) with good results. The injections are easy to do and the response is almost immediate with a good erection. Don't let the needle put you off--you can use the small, short ones used by diabetics so it is painless. This approach is also more economical than the Cialis type drugs which are only guaranteed to make the drug companies rich. Why get depressed about not having an erection when it is so easy with injection? I have to drive 30 miles to a compounding pharmacy but I get 30+ injections for about $50.
