The other thread was about Dr. Dowlat. in Chicago. Dr. Dowlat is not doing this type of treatment at this time. He has recently left his University Positin and is awaiting equipment and such.

Tha above post is in Reference to Dr. Carpenter in Arkansas. She is actively doing the treatments and is having excellent results. The Laser treatment she is utilizing is somewhat different from Dr. Dowlat's protocol, but similar in many aspects.

Dr. Carpenter has developed a significant contribution to the protocol that allws her to treat tumors regardless of size. She introduces an agent to the tumor that makes the lase much more selective in the target tissue.

I hope to meet with Dr. Carpenter in the next week or so, And I will tell you my personal experience with her treatments at that time.

However, I stand by the original response - this is an unproven technique for advanced breast tumours, and more research is needed before it can be regarded as a safe bet.

Hyperthermia in itself is not a new concept, is used successfully in some types of cancer, and is under research.

Hello,

I have now had the opportunity to have the laser treatments discussed above. Although my cancer is rectal the treatment is much the same.

Dr. carpenters' laser treatment is slightly different from the other laser treatments. Her treatment is non-invasive.

Also her protocol does not insert a fiber into the lesion as some do. Rather she aims ten fibers at the lesion. The lesion has a stain injected to maek the malignant cells react with the laser. the interaction of the stained cells with the laser light produces irreversible cellular damage to the malignant cells.

Dr. carpenter has researched and performed the treatments for over 20 years and has been cleared by the FDA to practice this therapy in the USA.

After my first treatment (of 4) she described that my lesion has reduced in volume significantly. I am scheduled for 2 more treatment in the next week. I am excited about the probable outcome as I have researched this therapy thoroughly. I truly believe that I will be cancer free in the next week, although it may take up to 2 years for the lesion to completely go away.

I am not a physician... there are some theories that killing the primary tumor will stop the progression of metastic tumors. From a holistic/alternative point of view... killing the primary tumor may let the body's immune system focus on destroying microscopic disease areas.

I would suggest that you contact Dr. Carpenter to discuss your situation.

Then I would suggest you do research to determine what you believe to be in your best interest and make an informed decision.
