Hi.
My mother had to completely remove her stomach due to a 3x3cm cancer.
It hit some nodes (15 out of 53 that doctor removed). Now she will start chemotherapy which will last 6 months. She will also be exposed to radiotherapy. The drugs she will get are Taxoter, Carboplatin and Xelodo.
Did anyone has been through similar condition? What side effects did he met?
Please share with me the feelings the person under treatment had (or still has).

Regards
Antony

Anthony,

I am very sorry to hear about your mother's cancer. It is good to hear that her medical team is treating it aggressively; it is an aggressive cancer.

I have not had stomach cancer. My cancer is in the brain all though there is currently no evidence of disease. And of the chemotherapy agents that you listed, I have only had Carboplatin was part of a cocktail of chemotherapies I received. One or more of the ingredients in that cocktail did cause my nausea for a while. But since I do not know specifically which of the ingredients is to blame, you should consult with your mother's medical team to find out what exactly she and you should expect and how to deal with possible side-effects of the drugs.

You and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers.
