Hi I just got my 4th chemo yesterday and it was really hurting my veins, and now it still hurts and the skin above my veins are red,so it looks like I have red veins!!! is this normal?? The chemo I'm getting is AGVD or something like that Shocked

I've have a thingy that looks similar to a peacemaker below my color bone that was placed there with surgery. I get my chemo through it so the chemo won't destroy my veins.

yes, ABVD can really mess up your veins. I had ABVD for 4 months and I can never find a vein to get blood out of now.

I had a PICC line for a while to do the ICE chemo through, and now I have a Hickman catheter for the stem cell collection, and transplant.

Its gross having something hanging out of your body, but I suggest asking about some sort of port, picc line, or something if you have to have much more.

It's inside the body, not hanging out and it's not gross. It's a really simple procedure. But I guess it only works if you need to get concentrated medication to a certain area. My tumors are below the diaphragm.

maybe a port isn't outside, but a PICC line and a Hickman is. And its kinda gross.
