My older brother was diagnosed primary plasma cell leukemia with plasma cell infiltration of his lung. Right now he is in dangerous and urgent situation. Is there anyone can provide me an efficient therapy solution or drug to help him? Thanks millions!!!

Hi blueshy, I am very sorry to hear about your brother's cancer, I am not 100% sure but I think you are talking about Multiple Myeloma. Am I right?

I am sure he is under medical care already. How was the diagnosis made? What treatments has he already received? Have they staged it yet? Are you looking for alternatives to standard treatments?

Sorry for the 20 questions but the more we know the better we can help.

Best wishes.

Jim, Thanks for your kind reply. It was primary plasma cell leukemia not multiple myeloma. Now the lung infection is under control and he is on second stage of chemical treatment. The plasma cell of spinal cord was 16.5% reduced from 80% after about 1 month chemical treatment with Vds (Vindesine), Ctx, and Zavedos. This time the solution is with Bortezomib and Ctx. I am wondering if there is new drug or solution reported out in clinic that effectively handles this disease. If you know some clues, please do not hesitate to tell me. Thanks in advance!!!!!

The disease is very tough but I believe the world could change fast beyond imagination. It can be completely cured soon with the development of science. We match with time.

Bluesky, unfortunately, I am not familiar with any of the chemotherapy agents you named. However, I do have a couple of sources for research protocols that are out there. The first is the NIH sponsored studies. You can access that list through their website at www.cancer.gov . The second is actually not just one specific list but many. Each major cancer research center has a list for protocols they are using. You can access those lists by calling some of those centers and requesting a copy. However, sometimes those lists are very difficult to understand. The best way to get that information is through your brother's oncologist. Those lists will have hundreds of trials listed but only a couple that your brother qualifies for. That is why his oncologist is the best source for that information. Express an interest in finding out if any center is doing research with plasma leukemia. If the oncologist does not take the initiative, you might have to call around and get those lists and take them to the oncologist. Sometimes if you call those centers they will tell you on the phone if they are doing any research on plasma cell leukemia or not. That would save you a lot of time. Just try to speak with someone in their oncology research department.

Good luck hunting.
