What does everyone think of a Chat room. Kinda like yahoo, or Msn. So we can just chat about anything or everything.?????

I think it would be a great idea. You have to be a memeber and sign in- like logging on, to use it. so easy to keep the rift raft out. Laughing

Inica, that is one of the things I have already suggested to Leo and he will look into it. I know it is possible to have one using a phpBB but not sure if it is possible with the new platform. We can talk about this further. I would love for us to have a chat room!

A chat room sounds great! That would be fun. I hope I'm not considered a Riff-Raf!

I think it would help bring the forum closer together. It's harder to get to know everyone on this forum than most. Many of us post for our specialized cancers...so often don't even leave those sections and meet the other members (or is that just me).

Anyway..I think it would be a good improvement. Smile

hi gang, will this be a 24-7 room or will there be specified chat sessions at set times?

Chis, we are talking about a 24/7 chatroom feature although I highly doubt if anyone will be available all the time. Some of us are on at the same time so it would just give us another option for communicating with each other. However, we do need to start talking about a Policy to control how that chatroom is used. Since a chatroom cannot maintain a permanent, searchable record, I would have that people with cancer related questions would still use the forum board rather than asking in the chatroom.

I think the chat room is to chat- to be social. I'm sure some questions will be asked here. BUT they shouldn't be. I think between myself and others we can monitor the chat room.

A chat room with a pasword and members name to be entred.
I do think maybe a waiting period for new members- or amount of post, before they are able to enter the room. This would hopefuly remove spam, and idiotic people.

If this didn't work- than maybe set "meetings" both Southeren and Northern times.

Wink
