I just had chemo (abvd) for the first time on Friday 10/12. I felt great on Fri. afternoon, Sat., and Sun. morning but then I started to have a weird sensitivty in my tongue on Sun. afternoon. I went to the doctor and it is not thrush or anyother kind of mouth infection. He said that this is probably going to be an area of sensitivity during each treatment for me. He told me to take Tylenol or swish with the MLB gargle sparingly. The pain is mostly dull but sometimes it's like pins and needles and the Tylenol doesn't help much and the gargle lasts 30 min. tops! It seems to radiate from my tongue, the sides of my mouth, and my lower jaw. I have not had any shots only the abvd. Has anyone had anything like this before?

Also, the vein in which I had chemo is very sore. I have been putting warm compresses as advised, but I am hoping it too will get better soon.

I am only on day 6 of my fight and I am finding it hard to get through. When will the good days get herejavascript:emoticon('Question')

Hey! hang in there hun.. and try to stay as positive as possible. ..As hard as it is.. but a positive attitude is what got me through it. About the mouth sores.. i found the mouth wash helpful (baking soda and water) and also switched to a baking soda toothpaste.. i also began drinking lots and lots of water to flush the chemo out and i found it kept me feeling alot better and hydrated. i just finished chemo actually.. 6 months! and it flew by for me and i am sure it will fly by for you too! hang in there.. and BE POSITIVE Smile
