Hi all, I am new here. To begin, I have a history of bladder CA. Dx over 6 yrs. ago. The tumor was removed and no further treatment was needed.
All scans were clean up until this year.
I had some blood in my urine at a routine physical and so I went in for a cystoscopy. The urologist saw nothing in my bladder. He sent me for an abdominal/pelvic CT just to check me out because so many yrs. have passed. Well, the CT showed a "shadow" in the bladder, a spot on my liver and spots on my lung. A followup full chest CT showed 4 spots, the doc said he doesn't believe it's scar tissue and that the spots on the lung are nodules nonspecific and small (2mm and 3mm). He didn't say anything about the liver spot really except that he wants to do an MRI to check that out and he said it is 1cm in size. He said there was no inflammation in the lymph node areas?
The urologist did another cystoscopy in which he was very thorough and he still said he doesn't see anything so he is going to go with the shadow is nothing.
I think I'm at a loss of what to think at this point. _________________ Kelly |

Hi, this is one of the worst aspects of having had cancer - the awful fear of something happening.
Really, until they have completed their tests and done a full analysis, I don't think you will be able to relax. I am sorry - worrying about tests is one of those universal worries.
Please keep in touch and let us know what happens - and here's hoping that it will prove benign. |

Hi, KellyMarie and Welcome to the Forum. I hope you get all your answers and support you are looking for.
I agree with Vee Smith- Untill you have all test etc. You can't be sure. The worry is the worst (I'm the same).
Keep Strong- Try to relax. And let us know how you go. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

Thanks everyone. A NP from the urologist's office called back and told
my husband that she and the MD felt that the liver spot was hyperdense and very vague and appeared to be a hemangioma? They think the PCP is doing an MRI as a precaution? I am hoping they are right on that one. Urologist feels my bladder is clear, he did 2 cystoscopies and said in his opinion after the second cystoscopy with no findings again that the shadow seen on CT is nothing.
And the 4 nodules on the lung they are just going to watch and do another CT in 3-4 months. That's a long time to wait. ugh. _________________ Kelly |

It is a long wait- But try to think of it as a usual regular yearly check or something like that. Try to relax as much as possible.
Because the Dr did look at it again. My feeling is he was worried he missed something- so therefore had a "better, though" look. And this is great as he didn't find anything!.

The spot on the liver did turn out to be a hemangioma (after my MRI), now I have to wait on the lung nodules. So, one sigh of relief. _________________ Kelly |
