sodapop, I have never heard about Milk Thistel. However, the rest are commonly available. With the exeption of baby aspirin, the remaining ones should be safe... I take many of these. However, my advice is to consult with your on medical team to make sure that these supplements do not have negative side effects when used with the other therapies you are using.

If you are wondering, of this list, I use Lycopene, Omega 3, Zinc (part of a multivitamin), Ester C, Vitamin E, Green Tea, Vitamin D, Folic acid, Selenium (part of a Multivitamin), and Q10. Plus I use B12 and B6. I cannot say that they do any good, but they do not seem to do any harm. Hopefully, some of their claims are correct Wink. Certainly, maintaining a good level of vitamins is good for someone dealing with cancer.

Thanks, Brainman!

The baby aspirin came from Dr. Oz, that guy that's always on Oprah, lol! He had 11 essential things men should be taking everyday. For Cancer, this one was a must, don't know why.

The milk thistel I got from a buddy of mine who's uncle has a phd in Bio I think and he said it was great for the liver, especially if you have tumors there.

Do you mind sharing what multi-vitamin you use?

I have Maximum Greens--Ultra Mega Green from GNC, and it seems to have everything in it.

I alternate multivitams but usually I just use an over-the-counter multivitamin and minerals... cannot give you the band name without risking being accused for posting an ad Laughing. But any brand should do. Just make sure they are fresh... i.e. have not passed their expiration date. Some vitamins do "go bad" after a certain length of time.

Milk thistle is a standard herbal remedy in Europe for liver problems, notably cirrhosis. It appears to enable the liver to recover from abuse. This gives fair information on it: http://nccam.nih.gov/health/milkthistle/

I use it occasionally if I think the liver has been overloaded - too much rich food when eating out.

Omega3, Co Q10, magnesium and selenium I use regularly as supplements, and I buy a mineral water which contains natural salicinin instead of taking aspirin.

Zinc I would only take if I felt my energy was really low. To boost the immune system in general I take the occasional course of astragalus, alternated with echinacea.

Lycopene, Vit E, Folic Acid and Carotene I reckon to get through eating the right vegetables and fruits.

My oncologist says something seems to be working to keep things stable, so to keep on dong what I am doing.
