Hi , i have been reading your posts, sorry i havnt replied untill now, i was diognosed [eventually] after being treated from constipation and everything inbetween,i swore if anyone else tried to deposit anything else in my rear end they would see my bad side real quick,i was only 17 so you can understand my embarrasment.
Anyway they had to take a large node from my neck to get the final diognosis, i waited a terrifying 2 weeks in a small country hospital going through every test you could think of before they did the biopcy.
They might even try a fine needle biopci, which is vertually pain less.
I know what the waiting and wondering can be like, this desease has been my shadow now for 23yrs.
I pray all works out well for you,i really do.
All the best from Australia, Jim Atkins. _________________ JIMJIM |

Have you ever insited that they do a chest x-ray? My daughter had a cough and I did not even know she had swollen lymphnodes in her neck and subclavical area. They did a simple chest x-ray and that showed a large mediastinal (chest) mass that was pressing on her lung. They were going to send her to a pulmonary specialist but she told me when she laid on her stomach she had a hard time breathing. I call my GP and he said there was nothing more he could do, so I took her immediately to the ER with the chest x-ray my GP did and they did a CT scan and blood work and all the blood work showed was she was a little anemic. They admitted her because the mass was so large. We went through lots of test in the hospital and found she had stage 4a hodgkins lymphoma. If I were you I would look up on the internet hodgkins lymphoma and the symptoms. Take that to your doctor and tell him you want an X-Ray of your chest if nothing else. I am not sure this is the answer but I would not stop going to doctors until you find one that will give you some kind of diagnosis. With hodgkins the longer you wait the more it spreads. It may not be hodgkins but it usually has enlarged lymphnodes which are not tender, rash, some have night sweats, loss of weight, fatigue, fevers, and things like that. Please keep trying you are too young to feel so bad. My daughter was in no pain either and really did not feel so bad except for the cough and she was tired. She told me after they started chemo that she was not sick and now they were making her sick. She has finished 4 rounds of chemo and we are fixing to start 14 weeks of radiation. Please keep trying.
God Bless you and I will pray that you find an answer. |

Hi Danielle,
I too have an enlarged lymph node on my neck for over a year and a half. I also just had a suspicious new mole removed from my leg (behind my knee). I have been having intermittent pain in my chest for over a year and have been extremely fatigued for 2 years. I just had a CT scan of my whole abdomen with IV contrast medium and oral. I am hoping this better scan will be able to show why I am at least having this chest pain. I should find out the results of the CT scan and the mole biopsy next week. The only thing I dont understand is that I had a chest xray and it came back clear. I just wonder if the chest xray could miss smaller masses.
Ok, so the CT scan came back normal, but 3 months later I got an ear infection and I am on my 4th round of antibiotics. The lymph node has got bigger and now there are other lymph nodes that are on the same chain that have gotten bigger. I am seeing an ENT doctor next month. They better do a biopsy of the 2yr old lymph node.
